ONE SEMESTER POLISH LANGUAGE COURSE

Course features:

Classes are taught by experienced teachers in groups on various levels of linguistic competence (see: course levels).

Beginners easily master the language basics, necessary in a variety of communicative situations. Learners are encouraged to start speaking Polish already during the first class.

Higher level students develop their command of language through speaking and writing skills, and they work on Polish grammar.

All of the courses develop communicative skills, improve grammar,  expand vocabulary, enhance comprehension and help to master writing skills.

Other:

We DO NOT provide accommodation in student  boarding houses, and DO NOT issue any certificates necessary to get entry visa to Poland.

SUMMER COURSE OF POLISH LANGUAGE

Course features: The intense learning course (about 4 hours a day). The classes are taught by experienced teachers in groups on various levels of linguistic competence (see: levels). SUMMER POLISH LANGUAGE SCHOOL

In addition to the Polish language course we offer lectures in Polish culture, literature, politics , and society, which will be taught by the University staff in English, Russian or Polish.

Specialized courses 

THREE-MONTH  POLISH LANGUAGE COURSE – Medical Polish

Duration: academic year (October – June); the course will start if at least 5 people  are enrolled (at any time of the year)
Frequency: twice a week
Hours total: 50 (one academic  hr = 45 min.)

Course features: Classes are conducted by a foreign language instructor experienced in specialized foreign language teaching (medical language). 1)      Polish for foreigners (with elements of Medical Polish) – A2 level Students learn how to communicate in routine communication situations which require a direct exchange of views on typical and well known subjects. The routine communication situations include also asking and answering questions within the field of general preventive medicine. Moreover, students learn  basic medical terminology (parts of the body, names of  medical diseases and conditions, names of jobs in the medical field and medical specialties.)

2)      Medical Polish for foreigners – B1 level The course programme will include medical terminology and its practical application in conversations with patients and Polish medical personnel. Students will also learn how to conduct a medical interview, refer patients, provide medical advice, diagnose, and communicate with Polish medical staff in various professional situations requiring specialized vocabulary usage. What is more, the course participants will practice reading comprehension on the basis of Polish medical articles, and they will also translate scientific abstracts (from English into Polish).

INTENSIVE ONE-YEAR COURSE IN POLISH LANGUAGE FOR UNIVERSITY APPLICANTS

Duration: academic year (October – June); the course will start if at least 8 people  are enrolled
Frequency: every day
Hours total: 675 (includes 600 teaching hours of Polish language classes and 75 hours of teaching Polish language for special purposes)
Number of hrs per week: 25-30

Course features: The course is addressed to the applicants who plan to study at the University of Białystok. Study level –  beginners.  A2 / A2+ learners are welcome to join the group in summer semester. The aim of the course is for the beginners to complete  it at B2 level (intermediate).
